Production Dates: December 12, 13, 14, 19 & 20
Synopsis: “Marley was dead, to begin with…” – and what happens to Ebenezer Scrooge’s mean, sour, pruney old business partner after that? Chained and shackled, Marley is condemned to a hellish eternity. He’s even given his own private tormentor: a malicious little hell-sprite who thoroughly enjoys his work. Desperate, Marley accepts his one chance to free himself: To escape his own chains, he must first redeem Scrooge. So begins a journey of laughter and terror, redemption and renewal, during which Scrooge’s heart, indeed, is opened; but not before Marley – in this irreverent, funny and deeply moving story – discovers his own.CASTING NEEDS: VERY FLEXIBLE CASTING The script calls for four actors to play eighteen roles in a story theater-style production. So we can have up to 18 actors playing the 18 roles, if enough people audition. Also (and here’s the really interesting part) the roles are not necessarily going to be cast gender specific. So if you’re a female actor, and always thought you’d like to have a go at Ebenezer Scrooge, Jacob Marley, Bob Cratchit, et al, now’s your chance.
